This course will provide participants with a core foundation in understanding the facilitator\'s role in leading teams for quality and work improvement initiatives. Participants will recognize their role as a facilitator when working with teams. Participants will learn to demonstrate team building techniques, team process tools and meeting management guidelines to assist teams to work together more effectively. They will also demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills to be able to provide feedback, solve problems collaboratively, seek consensus building and facilitate conflict resolution. Participants will demonstrate the competencies and process skills required to meet the standards of performance as a Facilitator. Participants must lead several projects to prepare for the final facilitation certification.
The "Facilitation for Results" Workshop provides participants with an understanding of the facilitator\'s role as a presenter, recorder, and observer. The participant will recognize key facilitation skills: guiding, dialoguing, observing, listening, and questioning. The participant will define several processes for demonstrating facilitation: how to plan and conducting a facilitated meeting, how to initiate participation, how to encourage decisions and reach consensus, how to handling conflict, how to solve problems. Participants will examine effective group process techniques and learn how to conduct effective meetings.
